8th Grade Career Pathways Fair
On Thursday, February 19th, 8th grade students at SMS will participate in the Career Pathways Fair to help decide their high school class and club selections. This event will pair your child’s YouScience results (students took this in December) with available high school pathways and provide information about classes, clubs, and careers.
College, Career and Technical Education (CTE) teachers from Smyrna High School, along with high school students and industry partners, will come to SMS to host these sessions, during the afternoon of the school day. Your child will explore four pathways and learn about the high school classes, clubs, and careers within these pathways.
In Tennessee, students get to choose their high school pathway starting in 9th grade. That's why we're thrilled to host an event to help your 8th-grader make informed decisions about their future classes. We're excited to partner with Rutherford Works and the Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce for this opportunity.
