- We made it through our first full week at SMS, and things were great!!!
- Parents, we still have several students that have not been verified in Skyward. We will be calling home for parents to come enroll their student or pick them up until the verification is complete. ALL returning Rutherford County students MUST complete STUDENT DATA VERIFICATION in Skyward. Please email Mrs. Glenda Natareno at [email protected] with any questions you may have.
- All car riders will be dropped off and picked up at the back of the school. If you need to know what bus your student rides, please click here.
- The county is offering laptop insurance for $20 this school year. Please check our SMS website for more information.
- Please be aware of the new RCS electronic device policy. Please check our SMS website for more information.
- Parents, we have several students refusing to eat lunch because they are concerned about lunch charges and not having the money to purchase a lunch. Here at SMS, we will never send a student home hungry. We need your help to alleviate this stress from the children by completing a free and reduced lunch application found on our RCS and SMS websites. Please click here for more information. There are videos and instructions on our Smyrna Middle school website for completing the forms. Unfortunately the state of TN decided to not renew the free breakfast and lunch program this year, and parents will need to pay for lunch for your student(s).
- On Monday 8/22/22 any 7th grade students who have not provided proof of a Tdap booster vaccine will be sent home unless they have an appointment card for an appointment on or before 8/29/22. You can also upload this proof of immunization to Skyward. *Regardless of epidemic or pandemic status, religious exemptions related to vaccinations for COVID-19 or any variants will be accepted by RCS in compliance with state law, if RCS ever required such a vaccine.
- Do not forget that SMS Open House is August 16th from 5 pm - 6:30 pm. We look forward to seeing you all there!
